Well we have two so far from our club, HMRAV. Myself and Richard Frank, others who have mentioned they will be there include, Rex Wolfendon, Ken Lucas, Dave Williams, so word is spreading.
Whilst some have been suggestting that it will be a great opportunity to bring up past troubles we need to remember that whilst that may be fun for some, will it help the future.
We have a great opportunity to establish an agreed future for historic racing lets take it. Latest regos. Dave Morgan [NSW], Marcus DeCoux [NSW ], Al Kidd, Phil Baughan and Danny Ahern [ SA], Alan Warner [WA], Vince Messina,

Well said John. I can't make it myself but as John said this is a great opportunity for our future so I urge as many of you as possible to attend the forum. MA have opened the way for us to have a say so take advantage of it. A new commission, public forum, things could change. |

Its good that guys are getting together for the forum that david white was forced to have by the board of ma. just remember to make it work for you and keep yor focus on the fact that historic racing is going along okay and doesnt need the likes of ross martin & co coming along and screwing it up for reasons only known to them. if you guys treat it that way you'll win and everyone can get back to having fun again and not wondering what the idiots will come up with next. dont start changing the ross martin philosophy of doom, coz thats they want, flatly tell them its not needed and the rules are fine like they are, tell them their rules changes are crap. make ross martins life harder that what it already is. dont start fighting between yourselfs, or let them try to start up things, coz thats what they want to see happen. remember they went out and found and asked the new commish to take the job coz no one applied so remember whos side they'll be on. stay cool and make it known that historics arent broke so dont need fixing. if they reckon historics are broke and need fixing then quietly and calmly get them to explain why and how they can make things worlds better (they cant). we've written to two govt sports places who are taking real interest in things now, we'll write again after the forum and just maybe tell them things are looking better.

The quick report is as follows Apporoximately 60 people attended, all took advantage of the situation and as David White mentioned, nobody got a Red Card and was asked to leave. During the morning each person identified 3-4 main opoints of concern and from the accumulated list 5 major topics were identified as topics for greater discussion. They were; Rules Changes Database for eleigibility Logbooks Future Titles / meetings Self Management / Communication Review Periods I shall return later to expand this report but the following major issues camefrom the Forum. 2004 National Titles It was acknowledged that errors of judgement were made with this event that all concerned can learn from. RULE CHANGES There will be no changes until 1 Jan 2008 In future all changes reccomended will sit in the rule book for 12 months prior to implementation so people can become aware of them. Any grey areas ofd the rules will be identified by the new National Commission and put up for chnage in 2008. DATABASE A data base for use by future administrators and riders will be created to assist with eleigibility. John daley and the Vic. HMC will report on some versions of the structure for this data base. LOGBOOKS Some wanted logbooks to be a record of the racing history and eleigibility, others remined us that they are simply a record of eligibility. FUTURE TITLES There will be 2006 [ South Australia}and 2007 National Titles and it was suggestted we actually plan much longer prior to any Title meeting.
OVERALL REVIEW OF THE RESULTS OF THIS FORUM It was agreed by all that we need to revisit the results of this forum in 12 months time.
