who is this 'worlds fastest Indian'?
is he an olympic sprinter or a fast bowler?
or a native indiginous American? Crazy Horse perhaps?

There are those who do, those who used to do and those who never did..
why is this 3rd group always trying to convince everyone they know best?

To the lucky winners of the Melbourne viewing, the time of the special viewing is at 6:30pm and I appologise for not including the time in the e-mail that was sent out.

Once again, thanks for entering the give away of tickets to the Worlds Fastest Indian.

There will also be another chance to view the movie for users of the site later on with a donation to the Peter Mac Foundation, which does a lot of research and operations in to cancer. This is a worth while cause and worth the small donation to see the movie as well.

This movie looks really good, when does it actually come out? I hadn't heard of it until this forum. Is the entry for tickets still open?

Thanks.

I'm currently reading the book by Bert Munro, and I've seen the movie trailer. Both are interesting. I remember wondering how anyone could get an Indian to go that fast, when I was a kid. My Indian only did 90 mph, flat strap down Brighton Road.

I was chased by the men in blue one night, and got away. If you tried it these days they'd lock you up and throw away the key. The fellas used to drive Ford Anglias and Zephyr sixes, both high performance vehicles - NOT! Allan Greening didn't like my Indian and talked me into buying a Tiger 110. In those days if you fitted the hot bits to a 650 Triumph you had the fastest thing on the road. I probably should have died a long time ago. When I think about it now I shudder.

The Things we used to do !

I remember riding Blue Fleetwood's Red Hunter Ariel prepared for Woodside road races in about 1947 with open mega (no cone) from Les Diener's workshop to Blue's homa at about 3 a m in the morning through the southern suburbs of Adelaide. Blue took the safe way home in his car ! No one bothered me, but I hate to think how many people I woke up.

In the early sixties there was a top A grader with the most developed Manx around at the time. They pulled the manx off the trailer on the way to Mallala and gave it a blast down the highway from Mt Gambier etc.
The guy that told me this had a turn and he said the manx sounded great echoing off the trees in the middle of the night, out the back of nowhere. (He was only doing about 120 mph, no lights or anything). The owner took a turn and as he blasted round a bend, found himself entering the town of Keith. He immediately shut the bike down and puttered quietly (?) through the town. As he got to the other side a ute coming the other way did the big screeching U turn.
The boys in blue then proceeded to book him for the lot. It cost about 1200 pounds - I think I earned 20 pounds a week back then.
