any info or link if possible.

Have 1972 650 T120v (owned for 15 years).

need advice on running problems--at wits end-know all the basics, been doing the old triumph thing 20 years on/off.

new rebuild since being off the road when super petrol finished around 1994.
Thing just pings its guts out under load on road now even with highest unleaded octance.

Everything still standard-timing/plugs + jets etc.

Any suggestions or links etc.

my monies on the heads been machined (probably everytime the valves/guides were replaced )these days it's best to run double thickness headgaskets (60thou?)stops the pinging,or fit low comp pistons?,retarding the ignition a poofteenth helps i guess,hth!,cheers

if using 2 gaskets check push rod tubes seals may be too lose or if head machined. p/rod tubes seals become split and leak due to no clearance for rubber seals

don't run 2 headgaskets!!,(bad idea )there's lazer cut double thickness gaskets with optional thickness pushrod tube o rings readily available(last time i looked?)

I HAD THE SAME PROB WITH MY 750 TRITON , I NOW RUN 3.5 CUTERWAYS ON THE SLIDES ,DOWN ONE SIZE ON THE MAINS NEEDLES ON THE TOP GROOVE WITH PREMIUM UNLEADED AND OCTANE BOOSTER AND NOW NO PINGING.
