I hope big time players are not attracted to the extent they then want to modify the rules so their own machine willo comply.
I reckon a big strength of the HSB concept is the tightness of the rules.
Anybody can go Historic racing today on something that never raced in the period. Johns plan involves trying to have only pucka race models from the period and keeping them very much in the style they were at the time.

I feel the idea of using sponsorship funding to improve promotion is a very good idea.

I believe that HMRAV own the 'Historic Superbikes' business name, and can dictate who is allowed to use that name. If HMRAV had a problem with people altering the rules, I'm sure they could stop the name of the class being used. I suggest the most secure way to control and maintain the rules would be through an agreement with MA.

Is your machine authentic or merely eligible?

Oldonk, I'm sure 'sponsorship funding' must be there somewhere! We should all start racking our brains to find it.

Speaking personally here and not on behalf of the HMRAV
The HMRAV does not own the name Historic Superbikes, I do { John Daley}.
The Historic Superbike management feel they will be capable of managing all aspects of the HSB concept. With is intension to continue discussion about all acpects of HSB activities they feel with good management, good promotion and tight elegibility rules the concept will be able to showcase an alternative.
