Hi John
I think we can hold a Queensland race!! as a few of us are going down, It looks like we are getting a few more rides because of BEARS, which makes it more value for money. They should hold a
"Inter State Series"
State against State Combine points over the week-end!!
"Inaugural Trophy"
as like in NZ
What do the other States think??? I'm sure we could throw something together to add a bit of RIVALRY between the States, Maybe some of the Historic Clubs could toss in a few bucks for a half decent Mug to keep in the club rooms for the year of the winners!! It may just bring more racers back to show up the other states!! I sure in this forum we could come to some kind of format. What do other readers think ???

| How would it operate? Would it involve all classes, including sidecars? Would you invole every rider, and how would you prevent the maojority state just overwhelming the points score/ Overall it sound interestng. |

Yes, the South Australians have the Ken Blake Trophy race as part of the SA Classic Titles, which covers Classic and Post-Classic. Used to be a real good event, but the Posties seem to have got quicker than the Classics in recent years.
There used to be the "Butcher's Picnic" at the end of the day too.

It'd be interesting to run some 'feature' races as part of an 'Interstate Championship' say up to 650cc Sidecar, up to 500cc Aircooled Fourstroke Singles and Over 500cc Historic Superbikes. We could decide the winning state on a points basis over three or four meetings.
I don't think 'Period' races would generate much interest, we already have the normal championships. |
Is your machine authentic or merely eligible? |

Hi All
It's just a idea to try & put some good "old" fashion Rivalry between the old mates which we seem to meet up with at the big meetings!! I'm sure at the end of the (race) weekend over a few beers we could come up with some "positive" idea's. The State Presidents could throw around some idea's & relate it back to the members!!
In NZ they just matched up us Aussi riders to the Kiwi's riders if not a bit one sided, but it was printed in the program which race & rider! so it was a race with-in a race, but believe me you found & eyeballed the other fellow every time you rolled up to start! RE-: 500 manx to 500 manx!! 350 Ducati 350 Aermacchi!! Triumph 750, Norton 750 etc etc!! Points added up who beat who in those racers. It was fun & you shook the persons hand afterwards, it worked well!! & it was pretty simple to do!! I sure people will & have thrown up all sorts of negitive theories ,if only for once every one ran with it.
Idea's welcome!! negitive throughts unwelcome!!
Idea-: Eastern Creek week-end ONE Meeting Annual Challage Winning club gets free accomadation for 10 people?? Pit shed/s hire for nex't years meeting?? Bar/Dinner Tab some where close to track, even money for entants fees for next years event etc etc. Just A Idea
