I havn't had much time to start my stories, but just to keep the pot boiling :-
At Woodside Sth Aust , which was a proper road circuit of about 4 miles, in about 1947 Jack Prime rode the first Vincent Rapide to come to S A (I think Kallin Motors were the agents who entered the bike) In practice Jack was passing the pits I suspect at over 100 miles per hour in third gear when the gearbox locked solid.
Jack successfully rode it to a standstill with a big black mark on the road and the tyre almost worn through. I think he needed a change of underwear !! more later Bruped
I've noticed a few of those black marks halfway down Conrod Straight at Bathurst, a few years ago. Some of them lead off the side of the road. Seems it's happened to a few blokes, besides Jack.
