I have just purchased an Urquart copy outfit, never raced. It is minus the swing arm, and I need some advice, plans, etc on building and fitting this. Any suggestions? Thanks, Tony (peen0_0)

It'd probably be worth having a chat to John Daley at HMRAV. He is pretty anxious to get more historic outfits onto the track. Try (03) 9888 5297 during the week. Good luck with your project. |

Thanks Alan. I have been in contact with John, and he is seeing Lindsay Urquart this week. It would be nice to have the original plan to go with the frame. Keep it all original so to speak. I'm sure that you would agree? |

Originality is worth pursuing, however not many people do it these days. A good replica is more intrinsicly valuable than something which bears no resemblance to the original, regardless of how competitive it might be. I get disappointed when I see Manx Nortons with Honda Brakes and Mk2 Amals. If I want to race an R1, I'll buy one and race it. I won't try to make one out of an historic bike. |
