If I remember correctly we only had about 5 sidecars at Winton last year, and considering the necessity to get on the ferry, 3 is probably only what could be expected. Are there 3 places in the sidecar championship? Just goes to show, you've got to be in it to win it. Good to see the solo entries are quite substantial. |

I must be a bit of a sadist. I always loved riding in big fields of competitors, but the guys who go to Tassie with the sidecars will probably still have a ball, even if not too many more turn up. Doesn't matter who's there and who's not, the team that takes the trophy home are still champions. |

I have just checked with Tassie and there are actually 6 sidecars with definite entries! There is also a Queenslander who is considering a late entry.
As well as that there is and entry from a John Brown who did not include enough detail for the organisers to get back to him so if you know a John Brown with an outfit maybe you could prompt him to contact Janine on 0417365352 to confirm his entry.
If John and the Queenslander get it together then 8 outfits will be pretty reasonable given the location.
See you there for some fun Geoff Sidecar #30 |

It's starting to look a bit better for the sidecar events in Tassie. I'm really glad for the promoters. All that good work deserves a good turn up. |

Well, the National Titles have been run and won and for all of you who missed out it was a fantastic weekend. I thought the track was an excellent track - certainly a challenge to get right - which offered great racing in most classes. With regards to the sidecars, I would like to thank everyone who put in a big effort to get all six outfits to the line in the races that counted. Three of us did engine rebuilds or changeovers over night and in all cases the cameraderie of sidecar racers shone out with offers of help all round. Well done everyone. And then the Top Hat incident at the presentation capped off the weekend in a brilliant way (and if you weren't there... well you just had to be there... but look out for some piccys that will certainly be around soon!) Yes, I am sure a few people will want to remember a few things that went wrong with the meeting but you have to remember that this is the first major meeting this club has run for many years and I think considering that it was really well done. Thanks everyone who was involved. Geoff Sidecar #30 |

Help Wanted!!! We need more sidecars (Period 4 especially) to race at Mac Park at New Year. Please, where are you all? It is the SA Titles and there are not enough sidecars for me to defend my title! Come on guys, hardly any of you got to Tassie so your outfits must be hanging out for a ride. Get onto the Mac Park website or call Danny Ahern 0407826951 and he will organise the sup regs to you. BUT, please do it soon, entries have closed but they are willing to hold it open a bit longer for us. Come, give us a chance to race and you never know, you might become the SA Title holder!
