We have hatched a plan to take up to 6 sidecars and a number of solos to Europe for up to 10 weeks for road rcaing at IoM , Holland, belgium and France.
If anybody is interested let me know here. Cost budget $10,000.
We have ferry, accommodation and shipping in hand we are confident we have every point covered. We will encourage any participant to volunteer as a Marshall at the TT to help and get closewr to the racing as well.

This sounds exciting! When is this plan likely to come to fruition - ie. How long do we have to save up? And, what classes are you talking? My understanding is that the historic classes in UK and Europe don't line up with ours so that many of our P4 sidecars would be ineligible. Also, what does the $10,000 cover? I mean ten grand does not go far for a sidecar team if it is including airfares! Can we have a few more details please John to help us decide whether we might be able to be included.

Save up until about Jan or March 2007.
UK rules do not allow Methanol but do permit front and rear conectted brakes. Not sure on two strokes but I have the rule book here. Hondas Ok.
Fares for onepersons, transport of road bike,accommodation on the Island for two weeks .[$7500]
A special deal may be struck with the sidecars for those who help design the event so we can save some dollars which I am not going to publish widely. We can race the week before the TT, attend the TT in full and then go to France for a special Historic meeting. There is an 8 week period between the bikes arriving and then leaving the Uk. We will ned to get them across the UK as well.
I have two houses available for up to 12 people and 6 sidecars. We will need transport of machines.
It will be a lot of money for the rides involved it will not be a budget trip but what a trip to have. |
