Lets start the ball rolling for the sidecar field at the island for 2007. With Growing solo fields we need to keep up the growth in numbers to justify track time. Who is in? either leqve it here or PM myself.
Can you please let us know so we dont get left out again. If we dont know we cannot follow up anybody, Thanks.

John, I do know of one or two from WA that are interested. I will check them out and let you know as soon as possible. Do we have a minimum number for 2007 to aim at? As you know they bumbed it up to 20 for this year which will take a bit of an effort to achieve but it should be possible especially if they will let us run Periods 3, 4 and 5 together. With the huge interest being shown in the Nationals at Mac Park we should be able to drum up a few while we are there.

We usually dont get many P3 outfits to the Island, but lets just focus on attracting new teams to the event rather than haggle over a figure at this stage. Efforts on such things like accommodation etc may be more helpful at this stage. I can offer accommodation for 4 people. |

John, count us in. It'll be one of our first races, but I can't think of a better venue! We won't be too competitive, but if sphincter puckering is the order of the day, then we'll be winners! P4 Urquart copy with CB750 Honda. Cheers, Tony (Bendigo).

Wonderful. Remember we have the sidecar training day on 10 Dec. at Broadford, why dont you try and aim for that because it will cost you nothing to circulate as a trainer. Cost $60 pre book, $80 pay on the day if you want to swing, contact Sidecar club [racing] 03 9578 8971 Barb Marten Secretary sidecarsixty@bigpond.com More details when I write it up. |

Thanks John. It won't hurt us to get all of the experience that we can. We are also aiming at this years Southern Classic, might be tight with work, Uni studies, family commtments, etc, etc, but we are trying. Cheers, Tony. (Bendigo) |

John, I have spread the word in WA and to date have 2 outfits interested plus another who may be. They have all said that they would need to know sooner rather than later if its likely to happen as they need to plan well in advance due to the transport difficulties of getting outfits to the Island. Maybe an early approach to PIMs to find out their requirements and then a direct approach to clubs or competitors around the country might be in order to see what the likelihood of success is going to be. We can really bomb the guys up at the Nationals in November but that will be too late for some who need to make travel arrangements and to book holidays etc If you want a hand phoning or writing to riders let me know and I will do what I can from here. Lets face it a bike meeting without sidecars is not a complete event.

Supp.Regs are out. I will try and get an electronic copy to submit here and the other sites. GOOD NEWS 15 sidecars is the minimim for a race. We have exceeded that recently twice in Victoria so lets go for it. Whose in? |

John, got another outfit, a mate from the Hartwell club. He and his wife race, but are relatively new as well. Cheers, Tony (Bendigo) |

Get them to the sidecar training day on Dec 10 or 11 2006. What ever is the Sunday it will cost them nothing and they will learn heaps and help others at the same time. |
